Nurse Educator

JOB SUMMARY/PURPOSE Coordinates and teaches courses related to nursing and ancillary service functions. Assesses needs and implements educational activities which will meet the multidisciplinary activities of SHS. Coordinates education, training and clinical orientations to meet the needs of the unit/department and organization. Develops appropriate materials including, but not limited to: needs assessments, objectives and outlines, pre- and post-tests, evaluations and clinical simulations. Utilizes clinical expertise to improve nursing and clinical practice. Serves as a role model, patient advocate, change agent and leader. Critical Care experience preferred.   DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION A member of the Nursing Administration team provides leadership and operational support for our hospitals. The team specializes in organizational and staff development at all levels with a focus on workforce readiness, advancing clinical excellence, supporting professional development, achieving desired outcomes, and building great teams and leaders. EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS Current unencumbered Oregon RN Licensure required. BSN required. Five (5) years clinically related experience in an acute care setting required. If appropriate to clinical area, ACLS required within three (3) months of hire. Experience or training with MS Office applications required. Experience or training in the theories, concepts, and principles of the education process required. Experience or training in developing and teaching curriculumrequired. Healthcare Provider Level BLS required. NLH Nursing Administration TNCC and PALS required within six (6) months of hire. National specialty certification required within two (2) years of hire. Master's degree in a related field required within three (3) years of hire. KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES Communication - Effective written and oral communication skills to explain complex issues, exchange information between team members, and tactfully discuss issues. Ability to perform group presentations and listen to and understand complex information and ideas. Time Management - Ability to organize, plan and prioritize work to complete within required time frames and to follow-up on pending issues. Ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously and thrive in dynamic fast-paced environments and under pressure. Adaptability/Flexibility - Ability to respond quickly and appropriately to urgent situations and to adjust actions to offer the best possible solutions to our internal and external customers. Computer Literacy - Knowledge of electronic equipment, computer hardware and software. Ability to learn new applications, enter data, and manipulate and process information. Problem Solving - Ability to identify complex problems, review related information, employ creativity and alternative thinking to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions. Compliance - Ability to evaluate information to determine compliance with laws, regulations, or standards. Use knowledge and judgment skills to determine whether events or processes comply. 41694

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
